Hi all,

Went out and bought a new soundcard today... Sound Blaster X-FI Platinum but I have found that since installing the card when playing COD2 after about 10 mins my PC will go to a fuzzy screen, then go blank and I then have to reboot.

Was just wondering whether anyone else has had a simular problem?

Cheers
Mike

I've got a X-Fi Fatal1ty and haven't had that issue.

I wonder it you're drawing too much power with the new card, or maybe generating too much heat inside the box.

Open the case and set a fan to blow across the motherboard. If it runs fine, then you know excessive heat was the cause.

As mentioned above it may be the heat issue. Make sure you have fans blowing in and out to create a nice air flow!!!
Also it maybe a situation in which your motherboard runs on board sound, and there may be a conflict in there. These daysif you had a sound card, the onboard sound does not com iinto play if it was set up that way. So check your sound options as well!!!
