Dear fellow Gameadmins,

I've been running an 18 player dedicated Windows CoD 2 server on a 20Mbit Pentium 4 2.8GHz with 512MB DDR RAM. This box is also being used as an FTP and TeamSpeak server.

I'm managing all these services through Remote Desktop Connection which seems to lag the gameserver quite a bit.

There aren't any fancy scripts running, it's all pretty basic. I start the box, RDC in, start the CoD 2 server, minimize, start the TeamSpeak server and minimize that as well. Only the FTP server starts with Windows. These series of actions happen about once a week, when I'm restarting the box.

Based on the given information, could any of you give me some solid advice on how to improve/tweak the performance of my servers, the CoD 2 gameserver in particular? I'd really appreciate it.

Not quite sure that 512MB is enough ram.

I would also suggest running the TS and gameserver as a windows service.
