It may not be a strict "UO" map. If that's the case, then you need to put the map PK3 in "Main". Or, do you have any mods running? If so, the map would go in the mod directory. Try experimenting with different locations of the PK3. As long as you spelled the map name properly in your rotation, the game will find it, if its in the right folder.
For example, I have maps in 3 locations: Main, aweup (I'm running a mod there), and UO. It depends upon the map type.

I do run the awe 2.12 mod,so I should place my new maps in the awe folder?

Depends on the map...again, you have to experiment. I would try putting them in Main first, though.

I have tried the map mp_uo_townassault in both my main and my uo folder.
Added this to my config file and it skips right to the next map in the rotation.
I don't think this map requires any mods to run, I ran it fine on a local non dedicated server just to make sure it ran. No probs there.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Look at your console log file to see what's happening when the map comes up for rotation. Spelling problem? Does your config say:
gametype tdm map mp_uo_townassault
or, whatever gametype...
Also, open the PK3 to see whether you spelled it correctly. Again, your console log should tell you why it was skipped.

Thanks Olddog. That's exactly how I've put it in my config file except gametype is bas.
If you've run this map successfully then you know the exact name. I'm pretty sure that's the correct spelling. That's the spelling of the pk3 file anyway but I've also seen it with the word final after it.
I will try to check the console log tonight.
Have you had success running mods?
I've tried the red dot scope mod from www.os-legion.com and followed the instructions as well with no luck. It states if any other scope files are running then it will not work. Does that include the original scope files? If you know, what would that file be call and in what pk3 file is it in.
Hope you follow this.
Thanks again, please let me know if you can.

Spelling is obviously important. What you need to do is to OPEN the map's PK3 file, and look for the map-name.bsp. That's what CoD:UO is looking for when it tries to load the map. You can open a PK3 with WinZip.
As for mods, sure, I ran the AWE mod for several years. Don't know the mod you're talking about, but for problems with a mod, I usually go to the developer for issues like you're describing. You shouldn't have to modify, or screw with at all, the original UO PK3s to get a mod working, though.
