I`m pulling me hair out here...

I have 2 pcs (both with this prob), both pretty high spec, plus I am aware of others who have the same problem.
I know it could be a number of things, but anyhoo, someone enlighten me...

Cod2 freezes, Lock ups & reboots alot..

I have tried new psu`s, more gfx drivers than you could think of (omega etc.), reinstalled xp ( a few times) experimented with hardware cooling, kicked it, said rude words to the pc, rebuilt the pc, reinstalled cod2, cod2 tweaks, confessed my sins at church, stopped drinking, cried, laughed insanely, prayed to many different gods, travelled to the north pole just to see if the cold would help, etc.

Oh yeah, also sometimes it will not hold the settings, ie keys, gfx setting, sound settings, etc.

Please tell me there will be a magical and wonderful patch that will fix all this made by a magical COD2 god??

Bloody pcs

In coduo the radion cards were having problems with the omega drivers try rolling them back to your last know working condition. Or even go back to the drivers that came with the card. give it a try and let me know

Thanks Harry for ya help..

the whole reason i used omega drivers with couo was coz the probs with the ati ones.

Thinks i have sorted:confused: by just tinkering..changing to AGPx4 and turning off fastwrites and turning off VPU recover and etc.

This is baffling me though..

Oh yeah, also sometimes it will not hold the settings, ie keys, gfx setting, sound settings, etc.

Why the **** is my sound and keys changing back to default...wheres a reall really angry smiley whe nya need one?

That is weird. If you're overclocking anything, try reducing the OC and see if that works. Also, make sure you don't have any mods (folders, downloaded .iwd files, etc). Maybe there is some "unofficial" file causing a conflict .

xgrunt makes a good point, now that you have the lockups figured out. I think I would re-install the game. Just to make sure that everything gets put back to normal.

ATI always had problems with COD and VPU recover right from day one.
That would be your best bet to turn that off.
