Where does server.cfg file go?

Does it go in /main?
Where you call it with +set exec configfile.cfg where is it looking for the file?

Where is there a doc that exp[lains the functions of the cfg file? Both in general and in detail for what you must include in the file, for what is optional within the file and for an all inclusive list of comainds etc that can go in the server cfg file.
