Connecting manually

Hi,

In COD it was possible to bring up the console, enter the ip adress of the server you want to connect to and hit enter.
This isn't possible in COD2 ????

Sure it is, but make sure the console is enabled. I use it all the time.

Console is enabled.
I press tilder (~)
enter the ip
enter
nothing happens

When I press a letter I'll get a list of "preconfigured" commands starting with that letter though.
Anyone ?

ok sorry, I'll figured it out ...

Shift- tilder brings up the big console
place connect before the ip to connect

In COD1 it wasn't neccesary to place connect in front of the ip .......was it ?

I thought it was nessecrary but at least you got it working now! you dont have to bring the big console up to connect either mate! just the ¬ will do the trick.

yes, the "connect" command must be used:

Syntax:
connect <IP Address>:<Port>

Example:
connect 99.99.99.99:28960

I create a shortcut for each of our clan servers or favs to jump in quick...here's the exact target line of one:

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\cod2mp_s.exe" +exec mybinds.cfg +connect 69.28.220.136:28960
