Server Setup.

Hello Guys, I have a few questions and i hope you can help me out on this.

My server company doesent host cod2 servers but they were kind enough to let me load cod2 on the server, i have full ftp access to the server and what i did is i made a Call Of Duty 2 folder and i uploaded all the files in my call of duty 2 folder into this one threw FTP, least to say it took several hours. anyway i am stuck and wondering if you can help me. i put a config in the servers COD2/MAIN folder called config.cfg and was wondering if that would be enough for it to start operating like a cod2 server. cause i did some reading on this forum and didnt want to do the wrong thing so i just posted.

Make sure your game executable file is in the cod2 directory and all the .iwd files are in the /main directory. Use a startup command to start the server, set the IP, and execute your server config.

As xGrunt mentioned there is a little more to it then just uploading the files..

The basic setup can be done through FTP but getting the cmd line sorted out and executing the files will have to be done through your server host. I would suggest working with them and coming up with a gameplan on how to get this done.
