Has anyone tried and succeded with getting a server to run with Firedaemon? I have tried it directly with the exe and also with a batch file but can't get it to cooperate. Runs fine if I run it from a batch file or from a command line.

Not having any trouble with Firedaemon, what's not cooperating?

Same here.
What version are you running?

This is not just us I have read a few people have this problem with it.
have not seen a fix yet.
Upgrade to 1.8 and let me know.

I saw this fix on another forum, I think maybe IWS or something. 1st run the game from command line or batch and make sure you clear any error msgs. Then go into your main\players\profile name folder and open up config_mp.cfg Erase everything in the file, just leave it blank and save it. Setup your fire daemon service like you normally do with all your command line options. If you watch your task manager processes tab you'll see your cod.exe file go over 60 megs of ram. That's how you know it's working. Don't ask me why fire daemon has to have a blank config_mp.cfg file, but it just does for that 1st run. Good luck!

Enabled "Interact with Desktop" and you should be able to see the error message COD2 is generating.

I've found that if using Firedaemon and i restart my box, COD2 wants to know if it should start in Safe mode or thinks my settings have changed and wants to set back to default. If COD2 get quit with rcon or by clicking the "X" on the console it's happy. Any other shutdown type results in one of the two above messages.

Version is 1.8

I was tearing my hair out with this the other day! It's funny that the profile cfg file was empty when I couldn't get it working but today it had been populated. I cleared it out, set the service to interact with desktop (It doesn't realy interact with the desktop so I usually don't use this setting for games) and it's now working properly.

One thing to keep in mind with CoD2, set the service for graceful shutdown or you will nearly always get the bad shutdown prompt. I have this turned off on all of our other servers because they rarely shut down gracefully and keep the server from rebooting nicely.

Also, I normally have my services running batch files rather than the exe. I would like to do this with CoD2 but it is not cooperating at all.

Make sure your config file is empty the one in player folder before the first start with Fire Demon
