Rcon Tool Version 1.0 Finished

Well here is my addition to a really good game. Hopefully it will help others. This version is only version 1.0. So things have been tested and they seemed to worked really good but if we find some errors let us know so we can fix it. the place to go would be :

Just curious as where you put the zzz file? and does this tool work for admining a clan server remotely?

I put it in my Main folder and it shows up on the main page from the game. BUT, when I join the server, login and then go back to main menu to use it, it's not there. Is there a way to use this in the game, or do you have to disconnect to use it...any help would be greatly appreciated. Looks great though!

sorry i was in a little in a hurry to get this out..

one would need to put it in the

/acitvision/call of duty 2/Main <----- path to server files and game

then while in game:

one you can get to it through main menu before connecting to server.

two join either spectate or a team and pick your weapon.
then hit escape and it will be choice number 6. COD2 Rcon Tool.

i can see it when i first start cod2 in the main menu, but after i connect to our clan server and join a team or spectate it's gone.

Sorry if this a noob question, but if I put this on the server won't it download to all the players as well (assuming we have downloads turned on)? I would prefer it does not get to the general public and just our clan members. Thanks!

Just rename it. I put in _svr_ following the zzz's and it makes it serverside (no downloading) just ensure that it is also named the same in your files. I tested without it in my files and was able to connect with server in pure mode and not download it. I then copied it into my files, reconnected to my server and it functioned just fine.

Hello All,

We have almost completed our final version of our COD2 Rcon tool. Chucknet and I have added 99% of all requested items. Here is a list of the new add-ons to our tool.

Updates and fixes:

bug fixes from version 1.0:

- fixed map bocage/breakout
- fixed alot of the weapons enable/disable
- took away cg_drawversion wasn't working
- took away a few other miscelaneous things - that were broke

added to version 1.1: releasing TONIGHT!~

- total redo of the weapons page now in columns by weapon type.
- ability to kick a player by slot
-ability to temp ban player
- ability to ban a player by slot - if you need to unban just delete from
banip.txt
- ability to send some predefined messages.
- ability to execute some predefined config files
- ability to create and execute 6 of your own configs - plus a how to on
doing it
- added 6 new custom configs for weapons settings
- added messages to display on console and ingame when things are
enabled/disabled.
- added the ability to add your own custom maps - plus a how to on doing it
- AND the biggest thing is a wonderful how to.

i think that covers it.
hopefully that should do it until they come out with a patch.

Still working on:
- the ability to enter your rcon password through tool
- the abilty to set g_password via tool.


This Ver. 1.1 will be downloadable some time tonight.

We will complete the tool ver 1.2 in a few days. Then you should be able to enter rcon passwords via tool and set game passwords

I can't get this to work for some reason.....you just put "_svr" after the zzz's and uploaded it to your servers "main" dir, restart it, and that's it?

Yes, for some unknown reason, it worked for me for this file, but not for other files with svr added to the name. I still get the download....?????

Concerning the rcon tool: I uploaded it to the server and it seems to work. Do have to log into rcon first before any changes are made in the utility?

Also, how do I change my rcon password. I'm a noob sry guys.

yes you will have to login via the console for now using /rcon login yourpassword.

To Change Your Rcon Pass You Must Access Your Dedicated.cfg Or Config.cfg In Your Servers "Main" Folder And Look At This Line:

set rcon_password ""

Just Set The Pass You Want Between The Quotes ;)


You may Also Create A Quick Launch Icon For Your Server. I Offer Them In My Community For Direct Access To The Servers. But For An Admin Who Wants To Access The Server And Log In All At Once, Do This :
This Is An Example From My Server 1 :



Simply Make A Shortcut On Your Desktop From CoD2MP_s.exe File In Your COD2 Directory. Name It Accordingly Then Paste The Below In Your Target Paths. Right Click On The Icon And Choose Properties To See Your Target Line. Remember To Adjust For Your Installed Path And Of Course Input Your IP. Yours May Be Different Than The Default Install Path, As Mine Is. Enjoy :)

I've changed the time limit for Death Match from 30 min to 15, but it doesn't seem to stay. When I restart the map its back to 30 min. Did I miss something.

I've found all the sites that have most of the console commands, but could someone point me in the right direction as far as admin'ing a COD2 sever. I really hate to bother you guys with a bunch of noob questions. I just want to run a good server with little problems.

We belive that this Rcon tool is the best one that can be had and from the post so do you.

Some of you however were unhappy to realize that after adding GOM your menu no longer works

We recived post stating that some of you are running custom Mods like GOM and others and the tool no longer work for you mod runners.

Not to worry friends.

Eliteclanwarfare.com has done it again.

We have started making TOOL patches for ALL MODs.

You can now download the TOOL PATCH for each mod.

The thing is, the mods remove the ingame menu we used to get you to the Rcon control panle. So we desided to make replacement Menu for the Dif. mods.

So now you will see your mods menu#6 and Rcon tool on #7

It's a great tool, but I have a question... I've tried the /rcon status command to get a list of players so I know what ID to use if I want to kick or ban, but nothing is displayed. The console is just a single line at the top of the screen... how can I open the console more so I can get the slot numbers I need?

will get you a full console so you can see all the info

Well here is an update not what we where hoping for but here is something the rcon tools.

We now have a version for:

COD2 Extreme+

COD2 Rcmod v2

And the Stock cod2 rcon tool will work with AWE 3.0 beta.

i am working on making it support other languages but that will be a while. hopefully by then i can get the rcon login and ingame password part working.

- Kick/ban Clients via client slot # - up to 64 man server.
- Change Gametype
- Change Map
- Enable/Disable Weapons
- Enable/Disable Many Server Dvars
- Have the ability Send Predefined Messages to console
- Abilty to add custom map to the tool when they come out
- Abilty to execute some predefined configs (6 total)
- Ability to set 6 of your on configs to run
- Ability to do a map restart , fast restart
- Ability to check status of server/players

I am extremly new to all of this although if explained in simple terms I have no problems with altering files and such. Here is my problem. at first i could not get a home server to work then i reinstalled and now it works. i downloaded your rcon commander tool and found the interface awesome but for some reason i could not figure out how it worked. the other day after reinstalling cod2 and getting the home server to work i turned on the rcon and all my server settings appeared and it worked great. i was so pleased but after i shut down and started the server up again the next day this is what the console said.

and it went thru all the rcon setting with bad in front of them. I have no idea what changed between the last ime i ran it but it does not work now. I found this post on where to put the files so i think i did it correctly. i unistalled the rcon and reinstalled following the directions. i opened the zip and started the install program and installed to the active cod2 dir. was i supposed to put that install file in the dir too? the rcon will not connect to my server now and does not show up in game menu. Please help me im feeling stupid

all you need is to make sure it is in the "main" folder on the server and and the "main" folder on your computer.

set your rcon password in your config.

then simply restart the server.

enter the game and either join spectate or a team.

drop the console by hitting the ~ key and then type /rcon login yourrconpass and hit enter.

then hit "esc" and it should be number 6 option click it and everything should work.

thanks for the quick reply. I failed to mention that it is a home based server and when it worked the other day it was installed on the c drive and the game is on the d drive. after i kept getting the baad rcon i uninstalled it and read the how to install and did just that, installled to the main folder but i must have done it wrong. you can email me if you like cactus@1s1kclan.com
